Minimalist Backyard Wedding in the Heart of Chicago

In the heart of Chicago, up the stairs of a building on a busy street, Missa and Shorty worked with their closest family members preparing for their ceremony. Their loft was an intimate gathering space to celebrate their wedding day. After getting ready together, they were greeted by a mariachi band and headed down stairs to the open courtyard below. (Not before greeting their sweet neighbor who fawned over Missa.)
The ceremony was sweet.
The company was excellent.
But the heart of the wedding day was in Missa and Shorty’s kitchen. Pastas, paella, tiramisu, cannolis, and so many other delicious foods and drinks were shared over a long, family style table.
There was no timeline and no rush. It was the perfect way to enter into a marriage and we left that night with full hearts. (and stomachs!)
