A Collection of Medium Format Portraits

Today on the blog, we have collected some of our favorite medium format portraits from the past few years. Our goal when taking portraits is to return to what made the classic portraits from the pre-digital age so special. When using film, our process slows down. We take care to compose and adjust for lighting in order to capture just a handful of shots. We have a limited number of exposures per roll and we make sure we get our money’s worth each time. (Literally, film is expensive!). Making photographs that are timeless and reflect the true feel of the day they were captured is always top of mind. Being among the few St. Louis wedding photographers that use medium format allows us to give our couples a unique experience and a connection to an era of portrait that never goes out of fashion.
